Matt knocked on the door to Mandible House, noting how pale Tom was.

Mikey gave a short scream before recognising the intruders. "Heafy, what the..." He trailed off as he saw Tom. "What happened?"

Tom's eyes fluttered open at the familiar voice. His mouth parted in a whimper, but he had no energy to make the sound.

"William's babies got captured by Ryland somehow so him and Mike traded Tom for them," Michael explained for Mikey, voice full of bitterness.
