"Tom?" Butcher hugged the blonde protectively and closed his eyes to search for injuries to repair.

The guitarist groaned, eyes fluttering open.

Butcher sighed in relief, "So you are alive."

Tom's fingers immeadiately flew to his neck. He touched it, searching for his pulse. "...Yeah."

Butcher hooked his arms under Tom's to help haul the stockier man up, "You seem to be the tastiest man in Chicago right now. Lucky you."

"Or the only thing that still has a pulse." Tom observed, scrambling to his feet. "Where the hell do I go now?"

"I don't know," Butcher shrugged. "Maybe Mikey has an idea."

"Whatever it is, I'm not staying here." Tom muttered. "...No offence."

"It's okay. I understand," Butcher turned towards the room he shared with Mikey and Nils.

Mikey looked up curiously. "What happened?"

"You have people with scary teeth." Tom replied. He was still pale.

Butcher closed the door behind them.

"...They're generally called fangs, Tom." Mikey raised an eyebrow.

Tom huffed quietly and flopped into a seat.

Butcher chuckled and settled himself into his usual place at Mikey's side. "Niiiii-iiiiis?"

"Papa!" The baby squeaked, holding out his arms. Mikey smiled.

Tom stifled a yawn.

Butcher scooped Nils up and hugged the hatchling to his chest before turning the boy so he could see Tom.

Mikey glared balefully at Butcher's flat stomach.

Tom smiled as the boy reached out for him. He patted him on the head and yelped. Nils had bitten him.

"Nils," Butcher said in a scolding tone and patted the boy's head, pulling his hand away when the boy showed his teeth. "He bites us too. It means he likes you. I think."

Mikey snorted. "He just likes biting."

Tom sucked his bleeding finger. "Great." he mumbled.

"But you love Papa right?" Butcher pouted down at Nils.

"Burdee." Nils giggled. Mikey burst out laughing.
